It’s nothing special, but I like that the party size is bigger than most RPGs. I don't remember it being this egregious in the first game.Ĭombat seems to be mostly unchanged, but that’s fine. For instance, it translates menu confirmations are "Determine" buttons. Whoever translated it is very generous with punctuation, and phrases things awkwardly at times. What I did notice though, is that the localisation is not all that great. The little animations and poses that gave some of Suikoden 1’s scenes their charm have appear more frequently here, and they are just as cute. Animations are also still a little on the stiff side, but they seem to have gotten a better grasp of their strengths in this department. I'm not a huge fan of the tiles and backgrounds, as they don’t scale as well as clean hand-sprited stuff, but they mostly get the job done.
